We're excited to welcome David to the 3link IT Solutions team! David joins us as an IT Support Engineer at our Canterbury office, and his first few weeks have been filled with new technical challenges and hands-on experience.
We sat down with David to learn more about him and his passion for IT:
Q: How have your first weeks at 3link been?
A: My first weeks have been incredible! I've been tackling loads of new technical challenges and getting stuck right in with hands-on work.
Q: What excites you most about joining the 3link team?
A: I'm excited to be able to speak to and see new faces every day, while also solving new IT problems I've never encountered before. It's great to be more involved with the company itself and learn more about the different clients we support.
Q: Coffee, tea, or something else to fuel your workday?
A: Must always start the morning with a tea, freshly hand made by Stephen!
Q: What surprised you most about your first few days?
A: The broad variety of companies we work with was the biggest surprise! From Architecture to Solicitors, it's amazing to see the type of companies that exist that I myself wouldn't look into.
Q: What are you hoping to learn in your new role?
A: I'd love to learn how to tackle more cybersecurity issues, whether that's penetration testing or network security.
Q: Besides work, what are you passionate about?
A: Just like IT, I have a huge passion for modified cars! From street to track, I love it all. In my free time, you'll probably find me browsing Autotrader!
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in IT?
A: I've always had an interest in IT ever since I was little. I've never really imagined myself in a different career field.
Q: What current tech trend are you most interested in?
A: My favorite tech trend at the moment is the Apple Vision Pro. It's amazing to see how far virtual reality technology has come!
Q: What's your favorite aspect of the IT field?
A: My favorite aspect of IT is the cybersecurity field. I've always loved red team testing, and when the pandemic hit, I spent a lot of time at home doing cybersecurity courses.
Welcome to the team, David! We're thrilled to have you on board.
